Just kidding, but seriously, I just saw the new commercial on TV, and now they even changed the lyrics. I mean, "Zoom, Zoom, Zoom" is O.K., but actually changing the lyrics, there must be a copyright somewhere, right? I think we should demand a capoeira reference somewhere, like a roda in the background of the next ad. Who's with me?

anywhuu back to the Mazda thing, why dont we just write them and ask them to atleast have a commercial that actually has capoeira/capoeiristas in it? fair game right?

Bolinha, your latest video kinda sums it up -- the cigarette ad.

We as capoeistas have a very complex job -- wanting this beautiful art form to spread, while maintaining its integrity. and for the most part WE have done an amazing job. I personally don't believe that we need to "bow down" to the corporate world to do it. but hey, to each their own. if someone wants to justify it by sayin' "i got mouths to feed", then that's what they need to tell themselves. but i don't believe that for the most of us do this 'cause we think we can make a profit. this, for me, is a way of life... not a means to an end.
i mean, it's one thing to say "I want some money", and someone saying "I'll pay you for your talents".

We are constantly tryin' to figure out how to get more people in our group. i personally would like to see EVERYONE playin' capoeira (then i really think about what that would mean - LOL!). but seriously, it's hard. so yes, we do demos, show the flashy side of the game, and become a-muze-ment for people. and we may get 1 or 2 people to REALLY inquire about what they just saw.

oh, and the person that made the comment out mestre Bimba demanding an interview... i would definitely like to see some historical reference to that comment.
