capoeira espaco

My state is so sadly lacking resources, it isn't even funny....

I need to get myself some capoeira music, so I have something to practice with at home (rock gives a funky beat to my steps, and hip hop...makes me want to practice me hip hop! *grin*). The only place I can get capoeira music is online. We have no resources up here...problem is, I don't know any good CDs. Good sound, good music, ect. Any advice on websites that sell good capoeira music or good CDs to get?

A berimbau would be nice....but doesn't quite help the issue of needing music when practicing on your own. *grin*

Thanks for the link!

(eww, your brain? *laugh*)

I had this problem, too. I found myself using more folksy kinds of music (Gaelic stuff, Native American, etc) but I had the same issue.

Believe it or not, I picked up some music from Best Buy's site. Most of my stuff is done by Mestre Acordeon's group, and I can play to it (Bimba meu Mestre, Vacquejada, Eh Capoeira).

But the best music is done by my buddies at Stonybrook. We don't have Acordeon's technical skill, but there's an energy that you can only really get when your friends are there with you.

try this site: http://www.littlebrazil.org/music.html if you play Capoeira Angola you may not like it, but check it out anyways. I like some of the tracks there. You can download them onto your PC

I wish I could give you my collection! I've got 76 songs on my computer but they are almost all from Grupo Muzenza CD's. You might be able to find them at
http://www.muzenzawear.com.br/listar.php?categoria=CD%60S%20MUZENZA

It's all in portuguese, though. I got my hands on them because my instructor has them and I was able to burn a copy for training. I'll look at that site too Capoeze, thanks!

hey!! see that this post is way old... but the internet searching for particular mestres really helps me out... the mestre of my association is Mestre Acordeon and we are a regional grupo... so a little faster pace... but mostly the rodas start angola anyways... but he is well known for his music and his berimbau playing... also for the distinct nature of his vocals... Mestre Ra's stuff is good... he is known for the many frog tattoos on his body... he has fun music and the stories are cute one that talks about telling his girl he is sorry but he must go but capoeira has called- capoeira meu chamo!... Mestre Saussana is well known for his voice and he is an old timer and we listen to much of his music... to our grupo of course these songs and capoeiristas are the classics!

also there is some really interesting brasileiro musicas all around... putumayo presents is my favorite ppl to put out world music and they have music that includes: angola, brasileiro, bossa nova, lounge, joao, astrud, jobim!

all these musicas encompass brazilian culture in the lyrics and the rhythms they present... truly showing brasileiro passion thru music and lyrics... i noticed the culture encompassed in the songs from deep within brazil shows the complex culture of jogos de capoeira e capoeiristas de Bimba e Pastinha!

a popular sites virtualcopoeira.com

nice to finally have found u amigos de capoeira!! obrigada!
