Capoeira Apelido and its meaning/explanation:
...my professors says it is very hard to find an apelido for me...

In regional I was known as Maritaca. Maritaca is a parrot, you can find everywhere even on youtube, just do a search if you want to see it. I got that name after 3 weeks when I started Capoeira, the reason then was when I look at it today racistic in someway, not even funny, cause I got it due to not speaking brasilian and just speaking the portuguese the brasilian despise so much... he wanted to change my name then many times, cause I speak today brasilian, most brasilian even ask me as first question from wich state I am in Brasil when I meet them... but he had the same problem as most others, it is very hard to give me a name....

About Me:
Regional [Mai 1998 - Mai 2008]
Trained with Mestre Matias, Grupo Brasil Capoeira and was responsible for begginer classes in my town. (~4 years active, ~6 years inactive due to injuries and other things who happen in life)
Trained here and then when I got the chance to visit one of my best friends, Contramestre Folha, Grupo Luanda.

In 2000 I met the first Angoleiro in an Event and since then I guess I been looking inside me for what I met in the one Event. That is also a reason why I was so long off Regional, many times I don't felt like going to training cause I don't felt the whole.... so I abandoned and began my search for Angola....

Angola [September 2009 - till my heart beats the last time...]
Finally found a group! I started training with Professor Charel, Angoleiros do Mar. I do 8 hours by train/bus to be able to get into training two times a week, cause here in Switzerland there are only 3 Angola groups and about atleast 60 Regional Academias....

Capoeira Enlightenment - Mestre Moraes

If I win a battle only to kill the loser,
In the war I live, I don't feel as a winner.
The enlightenment of experience lies in the path,
And walking by crossroads has taught me how to play
How to play the game of life,
Cause life is to be played
Playing for the victory only makes the player sad
And when he thinks he has won
He has, in fact, been defeated

Bruno!!!!!

There is an actual capoeira group in Fairbanks (about an eight hour drive from my town)! They came and visited! Ahh! That group may potentially expend. Yay!

Thank you very much Bruno. I was asking because I want to embrace the African side of Capoeira in order to get in touch with my roots, and I heard that Angola was alot closer to the African side of things.

Haha I might be Pavio, but I don't light that quickly. :]

And thank you very much. It's good to know I made a good choice! Also, I have a question. Do you prefer Angola or Regional? I am part of a Regional group but I've always had a huge interest in Capoeira Angola.
