I learned about capoeira through Only the Strong. Began practicing by teaching myself by watching videos, reading online, and playing Tekken 3.

I started training with Mestre Loka of CapuraGinga in 2000. Been with the group ever since.

I teach a capoeira club at Assumption College in Worcester, MA.

I love capoeira so much that I blog about it at "The Capoeira Blog." Very original name, right?

Faisca! Thanks for the comment about "mindful child's play" on Mandigueira...I got the idea from another capoeira blog run by one of the teachers in my capoeira family: Prof. Tartaruga at Capoeira Chronicle

"Capoeira is fun. Capoeira is a game that is two fold. There is the athletic game or the jogo, and then there's the child's game or the brincadeira. A lot of people jogar but are incapable of brincando."

It seems to me too few people enter the roda with a smile and a chuckle... :)

go ahead. I still hope to be able to do a service for the capoeira community, cause what I see the last coupla days is that there ARE impressive blogs/sites on the internet already (but once you get into the roda you'll have to play...)
