Greetings from Tijuana, Mexico my advice will be . . . enjoy it as much as possible, even though when you feel tired, even when you feel your legs & arms in pain due to practice, all of this get compensated, when you are able to achieve your moves properly performed!
hmm... well for starters just enjoy the journey and dont be in a hurry to get anywhere on it. lol i dunno, as you get farther into it, you will learn a whooooooole lot, not just movements. capoeira is a great thing, and being involved with it is great too... there are too many things to try to talk about!! hehe... glad you found capoeira, or maybe it found you :)
-know the basics and how to pull them out in any situation
-when you play, dont think, feel.
-dont just be content with what your teacher teaches to you, figure out how everthing works for you and dont be afraid to experiment to truely make everything you learn "yours"
-learn about malandragem, mandinga, and malicia
Hi! I've always wanted to go to South Africa. Now I know I can go there on vacation and train capoeira! Just be consistent with your training and everything will fall into place. But most of all have fun.
Wow that is awesome...Africa...just train hard and to your ability! Push yourself because you are your own best measuring stick...everything takes a little bit of time but as long as you stick to it you can do great things! I have about 4 years in but still a youngin myself with tons to learn, but its all great fun!
