- I moved here (Shanghai) in March 2007 and it looks like I might stay for a while. I'm somewhat reckless, a little impulsive and a big fan of pursuing happiness :)
Started training in Taipei in 2005, then in Vancouver in 2006. When I moved to Shanghai there were people training but no organized group - but we have since become the first Capoeira Mandinga group in China, and held our first batizado in September of 2008.

Lol I actually saw some capoeira on a chinese sereies show several months back. I was so fabagasted. Victoria batizado is March 6-8. Yah berimbau from HK, I doubt I'll be able to play him since it's a batizado, but it'll be nice to see who he is and watch him play :D
Wow, sounds like you get a lot of excitement over there :P I wish we had more workshops with different mestres, that'd be awesome! For victoria, I hear Bambu (form hk? or is that berimbau?) will be coming, so that'll be cool to finally see the person I've been hearing a lot about.
Wow japan...I'm going to japan in june, and no I'm not going on the brazil trip unfortunately :( I plan to go on the next one though, maybe three years later. Hopefully I'll have a decent job by then :D
Great to hear that your grupo is growing! It's great that you're doing so much for your grupo (I guess that's the pro of having a small group). You gotta take more pictures! I want to see what it's like over there :D
Things are going good. Victoria batizado is coming up, so I'm hoping I'll be ready for it. although I'm feeling rather stiff and "old" these days. I wish I can train more (busy due to school) and have more energy for training (I wonder if I'm eating enough carbs/proteins). Other than that, it's great to have lelo here for the past several months. Wish he'll never travel again XD
