The Topázio group was founded in 1987 by Master Dinho. The group has been known for introducing new movements in the capoeira fight. Master Dinho has continued working on Master Bimba's project (the development and growth of the capoeira fight).

- Marinheiro...I've been fascinated with the physical arts since I was a kid, but was always afraid to try. I was first introduced to Capoeira in 98/99 when I met Mestre Cigano in Newark, NJ. I fell in love with the culture of Capoeira.
I tried to participate in class, but I was afraid to participate for personal reasons.
As a senior in High School, I became very patriotic and wanted to grow as an individual. This led me to pursue a career in the U.S. Navy.
During this time, Mestre Cigano continuously called me Marinheiro simply cause of my departure to the Navy. Since then, my apelido has come to define me as I have grown to love the Navy and support others through my sacrifices as a Marinheiro.

- I've been so crazy busy with work and it's the depressing part of my life. LOL...but capoeira has been keeping me sane and I'm dating a great guy, who makes me smile everyday. What's new with you?
