only 3 people, huh? Damn.. I've been there, for sure. I've had nights at the academy where theres one person.. me. But now the class is like.. 7-12 people. And some of them are learning sooo sloooow. I know what you mean about frustration, it is coming in many shapes and ways.. Only like.. 4 people have trained and know what they're doing, the rest are BRAND new. But teaching can also be so rewarding, I'm trying to be patient and positive.
Stay up, palm tree.. paz
Yeah it's not like, "Ok I'm the mestre everbody follow me!" type of thing.. more like a collective, me and the other more experienced people are all teaching the new people.. But it's going really well so far.. But how's it going for you, leading in MD?
Paz
My group? Umm.. picking up the pieces of vvhat used to be "CapoeiraEugene" and vve vvere affiliated vvith Cordao de Ouro, and Mestre Cicero..
Novv I'm not so sure, it's just me and some of the experienced capoeiristas teaching a gaggle of nevvbies, and trying to keep capoeira going in this area.
Salve!
That's a pretty full plate, man.. But I bet you're up to it..
I have been busy getting smacked around by life, you knovv.. But I think this time I'm on the up and up, and plannin' on staying there.. I'm also (by sick circumstances) leading vvhat's left of the group here.. Despite my young life in capoeira, someone needed to step up and my teachers thought I vvas the man for the job. I lead my first class tomorrovv, for a fevv of the experienced and a couple of poeple brand nevv to capoeira. I am nervous (secretly) and excited (openly). Should be good... can't vvait to get into that roda! Been far too long..
Hmm..working, capoeira, broadsword, hip hop, housesitting...Nothing top exciting. Had a great Thanksgiving. I was able to talk to my brother on the phone, which is always happy. Already gettin' sick of the Christmas decorations and music. Decorations have been selling since Halloween and music started playing BEFORE Thanksgiving. Ack.
Missing the snow...we had a great week of snowfall, then it decided to melt...then freeze. One day of strange warmth...a week of too cold to snow. Grr. Please, please snow! *grin*
Been training since 1998, with a few breaks in there. I've been with several different groups, and met lots of great people. Always looking to meet new people in the E-roda
