I understand, well you have your blog and that's alot to do allready. Yeah school is great, I do feel like in a hogh-school grils locker room right now since we just 2 guys and the rest are 22 ladies and then my age... I am atleast 10 years older then 90% of the class so sometimes I do start to think if I was like that also heh... my knee will heal, I mean I have so many rodas to go to still, meet all the good people I met on here and get one rasteira after the other, but atleast make it to a roda overseas. I don't got to read yet the news on your blog so how you been and what you up to? Right now I work during day and get during week 3 evenins to school till 10pm and make it back at around 11pm home to be at 7am at work again, then saturday school again so till I am used to the new rythm I guess I am happy to be able to keep up answering the comments here and when I find more time update myself in the blogs I used to visit, yours along : ) take care and abraço
hello joanninha! jup! I have been on...errr...a mini-vacation. you know, being far away from all that work and also having a small capoeira break (meaning, time without capoeira). but now I'm back in reality again, so be sure that Spaghetti won't be that quite anymore ;)
well, I'd say that opinion is of some value! I like it, because it's done by me, the A is actually from a foto of me doing a Rabo de Arraia (detail: the kicking leg is bent cause the next thing was that I had to go into a Queda de Rins, my trainer was already under my leg...)
really??? great! I was actually not quite sure about it, but everything I added or changed with this "intermediary" banner did disturb. And as the first banner was not a picture of mine I decided to take that one... awww...well, you never know. maybe at some point I will change it anyway, am just starting to discover the joy of logos and banners!
i accepted :D im adjusting slowly but surely.. it feels like its gonna be a few days before i blog about my trip.. plus i wanna get some pics from the other people i was with.. but i will hehe
haven't done so much work lately.. ive edited an article but i haven't taught any classes yet hehe waiting for my company to schedule something again.. until then i'm broke lol
Hi Joaninha, I havent read the book yet... but I will definetely.
Today again my day started perfectly because of Capoeira...I went training in the morning and afterwards I just felt this overwhelming energy... so much positive energy...everytime I stand with all the other people in the roda I feel like coming home...As I am a scientist and normally a very rational person, that want to analyse and mesure everything, I sometimes do not understand myself ...that is crazy...no sport ever had such an effect on me.. That is why two weeks ago my mind came up with the thought to compare it to a sport I did when I was younger (Taekwondo)...Two weeks ago I joined a Taekwondo class at the universtity and it was nice but it was as if the energy that was used there during training was too agressive and more or less wasted (I can t describe it) . Maybe because the Taekwondo trainer interpreted his art in the way of fighting and making hard kicks to beat the "opponent"... Even though I did very well during class and the trainer was very nice with me I did not feel the same joy like in Capoeira...
I think capoeira has something mysterious, something that speaks to my heart but I do not know the word for it...it is not just a sport as it touches several other interests of myself too:
- it also touches my interest in foereign cultures, getting in contact with people from all over the world in a productive and respectful way,
- in a wider sense my interst for native americans (as maybe some indians of south america also contributed to the development of the sport), I love the sound of the beat of the drum
- my interest for martial arts, as well as my interest for philosophy and spirituality
- and my interst for dancing and having fun,
- as I feel very much connected to the ocean (I love surfing) and the sport comes from Bahia and the movement reminds me of the waves of the ocean also this is included there in someway
...sometimes I think my whole world is included in this "sport" and everytime I realise this it is so surprising.
But well enough for today... I have to work.
Have a nice day and I d love to read about your thoughts about how Capoeira affected your life.
Daniela
