I started capoeira in September of this year. It had already been a long year of illness, disappointments, and unemployment. I hadn't been to the gym in months partly because I didn't feel well and partly because of dreading those boring cardio machines in the over-heated, over-hyped, unfriendly Crunch. I finally decided that I would quit that mess and try fun things that would get (and keep) me active. I wanted something fun, a workout without me realizing it.

Thanks for your message. I cannot believe I'm almost within the 2 week window of my trip! I am very excited, and a little nervous at times too. My biggest worry is getting my research visa. I cannot manage to get through to anyone at the Chicago consulate office. Aside from that, I'm wrapping up loose ends and brushing up on my Portuguese. How about you? Is your group going to be able to make a trip?

Spaghetti comes from me being a) slender and b) moving my whole body like a freshly cooked spaghetti. at least that's what my teacher told me (I personally think that he had a bad dinner the day he gave me the name ;) )
